If you only have one week to experience the magic of East Africa, Uganda offers a concentration of biodiversity that is hard to match anywhere else on earth. In just seven days, you can stand face-to-face with mountain gorillas, cruise past hundreds of hippos on the Nile, and spot tree-climbing lions resting in giant fig trees.
To make the most of your time, this curated itinerary offers two paths: a comfortable scenic road trip (our Midrange Grand Collection) or an effortless luxury fly-in safari (our Luxury Collection) to maximize your hours in the wild.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Touchdown at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), located on a beautiful peninsula on Lake Victoria. Rest up at a boutique hotel and enjoy a fresh fish dinner by the lake to shake off your jetlag.
Day 2: Journey to Kibale Forest National Park
The Drive Option: A scenic 5-hour drive winding through green tea plantations and rural Ugandan towns.
The Fly-In Option: A quick, 45-minute flight from Entebbe to Kasese airstrip, followed by a short road transfer directly into the forest.
Afternoon: Take a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to spot up to 8 species of monkeys and the striking Great Blue Turaco.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend your morning in Kibale Forest, home to the highest density of primates in Africa. Track habituated chimpanzees as they swing through the high canopy. After lunch, make the scenic journey south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, framed by the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains.
Day 4: Savannah Wildlife & Kazinga Channel
Morning: Embark on a sunrise game drive across the Kasenyi Plains to spot elephants, leopards, Uganda kobs, and lions.
Afternoon: Embark on a private boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel. This waterway boasts one of the world's largest concentrations of hippos, alongside giant Nile crocodiles and herds of elephants cooling off on the shore.
Day 5: Tree-Climbing Lions to Bwindi Forest
Travel through the southern Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Keep your eyes trained on the branches of large fig trees—this is one of the only places in Africa where lions routinely climb trees to sleep and escape the heat. Afterward, watch the landscape change into the dramatic, terraced green hills of Bwindi.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
This is the moment you've been waiting for. Wake up early for a safety briefing at the park headquarters before heading into the ancient jungle with your expert UWA rangers. Once you locate your assigned gorilla family, you will spend one quiet, unforgettable hour watching them eat, play, and interact. Celebrate your successful trek with a relaxing evening overlooking the misty forest canopy.
Day 7: Return Flight or Scenic Drive to Entebbe
Overland: Depart Bwindi for a scenic drive back to Entebbe, pausing at the Equator line for photos and souvenir shopping.
Fly-in: Board a morning flight from Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, arriving back in Entebbe in time for your evening flight home.
