Your 7-Day Itinerary
Each day is designed with purpose — balancing wildlife encounters, comfort, and the unhurried pace that makes a safari truly memorable.
Arrival & Welcome to the Pearl of Africa
Your guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport with a warm welcome. After a comfortable transfer, you'll settle into your Kampala hotel for an orientation dinner and a briefing on the spectacular days ahead. This evening, raise a glass to the adventure that awaits — Uganda's wild heart is calling.
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Drive southwest through Uganda's lush countryside to Kibale — home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, our closest living relatives. With your UWA ranger guide, venture into the forest as dawn light filters through ancient mahogany canopy. Hear the chimps call before you see them; then spend an hour in their presence — watching, listening, marvelling. This afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a birdwatcher's paradise with over 200 species.
Lions in the Trees & Kazinga Channel Cruise
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park — Uganda's most biodiverse reserve. Morning game drive through the Ishasha sector to search for the park's celebrated tree-climbing lions, a rare behaviour found almost nowhere else in Africa. In the afternoon, board your private boat on the Kazinga Channel, where elephants bathe at the banks, hippos bask in the shallows, and a spectacular variety of waterbirds gathers at sunset.
Journey to the Gorilla Kingdom
Drive through the dramatic highlands toward Bwindi — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest and most biologically diverse forests on earth. Arriving in the afternoon, you'll visit a local Batwa community to learn the ancient story of the original forest guardians. This evening, your guide will brief you on tomorrow's gorilla trek: what to expect, how to behave, and how to make the most of your hour with the gorillas.
The Most Profound Hour of Your Life — Gorilla Trekking
This is the day everything has been leading to. After breakfast, set out with your ranger guide into the forest. The trek may last anywhere from one to six hours — through tangled undergrowth, across steep ridges, past waterfalls — but the moment you find your gorilla family, time stops. You'll spend one silent, sacred hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. Silver-backed males. Curious juveniles. Watchful mothers. A memory that will stay with you forever. This afternoon, rest and savour what you have witnessed.
The Nile, the Falls & the Great Savannah
Fly or drive north to Murchison Falls — Uganda's largest national park, where the entire force of the Nile River is squeezed through a rock cleft just 7 metres wide, creating one of the world's most powerful waterfalls. Afternoon game drive across the savannah: vast herds of buffaloes, Rothschild's giraffes, elephants, waterbuck, and kob stretch to the horizon. A sunset boat cruise upriver to the base of the falls brings an extraordinary close to the day.
Final Morning Game Drive & Farewell to Uganda
One last dawn game drive before transferring to Entebbe for your international flight. Uganda has a way of staying with you long after you leave — in the sound of a gorilla's breath, in the roar of the Nile, in the memory of a lion draped over an acacia branch. Your guide will ensure a comfortable and timely departure. Until next time, the Pearl of Africa awaits your return.
